Home Office Organization

Office Worker with Mountain of Paperwork

Hey Dallas!

Home offices can get messy fast with the clutter of every day life, and if you don’t stay on top of it all, it can quickly become overwhelming. Bills can get lost in the mess and concentrating can become impossible. By employing just a couple of organizational tips, you can make your office clean, manageable, and looking great!

Here are a few tips to help you start:

1. Keep drawers organized with dividers. Give a home for your pens, pencils, paperclips, and post-its.

2. Papers need a home too. Instead of organizing your papers into piles on your desktop, use a paper file tray or file cabinets. Papers are the biggest offenders of desktop disorder, so keeping it all organized can greatly change the atmosphere of your office.

3. Use a bulletin board or desktop calendar to keep an eye on your schedule. By having all your appointments in one place, you reduce the risk of forgetting or missing something. This is especially applicable for moms with busy schedules and busy kids. (Click here for more tips on organizing your schedule.)

4. Design your home office to be interesting and inviting. If your office is drab, you’ll never want to actually work in it. Spruce it up by hanging pictures/design elements on the wall and redo your cabinets (Classy Closets can help with that!) and you will start to love being in your office and work will become a breeze!
